Sad News

Fellow members,

It is with deepest sadness that I bring you the news of the passing of yet another of our most cherished members. Bob Berdick passed away at home on Tuesday, June 14, 2011. Bob could always be counted on to maintain a daily vigil over the club, especially during the winter months; and he was one of the first to check on the safety of the boats when nor'easters hit the island. He reassured all of us that all would be well and gave me words of encouragement on my new role as Commodore as recently as this past Saturday night at the Club. Along with Miriam, we will all miss his quiet concern for all of us.

A viewing will be held at Shinn's Funeral Home, 10 Hilliard Drive, Manahawkin 08050, on Monday, June 20, 2011 from 4 to 7 PM.

A Memorial Service will be held at the Spray Beach Chapel, 23-24th Street, Spray Beach on Tuesday, June 21, 2011 at 11 AM; a reception will follow at the BHPYC clubhouse.

In lieu of flowers, Miriam has requested that a donation be made to: WYRS, -FM 90.7,Christian Radio, P.O. Box 730, Manahawkin, 08050.
